Back to work!!
I have enjoyed myself relaxing and not having anything to do, however now I must get back to my uni work!
I am grateful not to have had exams after xmas, so I was able to enjoy my time off! But I really ought to get myself back into the swing of things!
So I have a case study presentation to prep for ready for to return to my Enabling Occupational Performance (psychosocial) module. The case study is about a man with Bi-Polar Disorder. I am working with 2 other people to create a presentation, with each student presenting part of an occupational therapy intervention for a given case study (15 minutes, 20% of the overall mark). In addition I have to create a written summary of my part of the presentation (1500 words, 80% of the overall mark).
The point of the task is for us to outline a coherent occupational therapy intervention. Each group has to plan and present, as a group, different aspects of the occupational therapy process for that case study during a conference style session. The presentation is to provide me with an opportunity to rehearse my intervention plan and receive feedback in order to refine your summary before hand in.
I am presenter A, this this means I will do the first part of the presentation, which covers:
- An appropriate occupational therapy model and a justification of my my choice.
- Explaining and justifying my methods for gathering information necessary to plan our intervention. Including the selection and justification of the assessment methods and tools used.
- Analysis of any risks and consider how these might be managed.
- Discuss the clinical reasoning and research evidence informing my decisions.
Not looking forward to this as I hate doing presentations. However, we did a mock summative one, and managed to cover all the points successfully in an hours worth of prep. So I feel confident in my ability to complete the task in a manner that is reflective of my abilities as a future OT.
Now to do some reading!!
