Today was awesome.
I've been seeing a kid for the past 8 weeks, his mum is a therapist's dream and he is adorable. She is so totally receptive to ideas and pro active in trying things and buying bits and bobs and he, oh he is such a sweetie, and totally brilliant at giving things a try. He is on the autistic spectrum, but so willing to engage with therapy. He was my case study. It was his last day today and this made me sad.
But during the session he met and exceeded all of his goals. He told me how much he was enjoying the sessions and drew a picture of me. And mum gave such lovely feedback. Both of these are now in my portfolio.
I finished off his report and programme and used images from pinterest (see this post) and that was me seeing through his episode of therapy, and the OT process start to finish. It was such a great rewarding feeling to see his progress and even more so knowing he had enjoyed the sessions.
Next week another of the kids on my caseload has their last session. I am hoping it will be equally as rewarding.
xx
